SPTI to Offer Raft of Formats at MIPTV

LONDON, April 1: Sony
Pictures Television International (SPTI) will bring a number of reality and
game-show titles to MIPTV, including a program under its development deal with
Base Camp Films and collaborations with Shine Limited and Tuvalu Media.

Six Degrees of X, a reality adventure show produced by Base Camp
Films and SPTI, will be on offer for international buyers. Each stand-alone,
one-hour episode follows two contestants as they race from city to city to seek
out the five links that connect them to a featured celebrity.

Tuvalu Media’s The 100:
Marriage
is the latest in a
franchised series that can be adapted to cover a range of topics—from
adopting a baby to surviving a life-threatening illness to setting up a new
business. Also from Tuvalu is Twinzz, an original take on the family talent show. The series follows the
search for the most talented identical twins for a place in a super band.

Shine Productions’ What
Are You Like?
revolves around two
teams of well-known personalities who battle to correctly guess how other
celebrities would react in a given situation. Each episode focuses on a
different personality trait, such as honesty, extravagance or curiosity.

Alex Elliot, SPTI’s executive
director of non-scripted formats for Europe, said: “We are proud to be
launching the first non-scripted entertainment formats from these two creative
powerhouses. We believe that both Twinzz and The 100: Marriage
offer fantastic new options for broadcasters looking for a new take on a talent
show or a prime-time factual series. These formats, along with What Are You
Like?
, represent a diverse
offering—from a highly visual weekend family music show to a comedy-panel
quiz to emotionally charged wedding stories which appeal to female viewers.”
