SPT Hires New Distribution Exec

HONG KONG: Mark Young has been made the VP of distribution for Australia and New Zealand at Sony Pictures Television (SPT).

Young will report to Angel Orengo, the senior VP of distribution of Asia-Pacific at SPT. Young will be responsible for leading all sales functions across multiple distribution platforms including free, pay, digital, online and mobile, in addition to managing output deals with free-to-air networks and joint-venture cable broadcasters, including TV1, Syfy Channel and Showtime.

Prior to this Young was the VP of distribution of EMEA for SPT. His territorial responsibilities over the past four years have included oversight and growth of sales in Central Europe, the Middle East, Israel, Greece, Cyprus and Turkey.

“With 15 years of television experience, Mark has been instrumental in growing our distribution business across EMEA and is highly respected among his peers,” Orengo said. “Mark is regarded as a fantastic partner by his clients and I’m extremely pleased to welcome him to this key role.”
