Sport1 Extends Champions League Rights

AMSTERDAM: The Dutch channel Sport1 has extended the rights to the UEFA Champions League for another three years, covering live TV, online and mobile phones.

On Champions League nights, all matches will be transmitted on www.sport1.nl, while a selection of up to six matches will be televised live on Sport1. The Chellomedia-owned channel has also renewed the rights to Italian Serie A matches for the 2009-2010 season. 

Sport1 has also secured the rights to live TV transmission and Internet streaming of the Brazilian and Argentinian soccer league matches. Sport1 will complete its Latin American soccer package with the Copa Libertadores final. The golf lineup, meanwhile, includes the European Tour (EPGA) and The PGA Masters, while in tennis, the Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the ATP World Tour Masters can all be expected to be shown live on Sport1.
