SINGAPORE: FOX International Channels (FIC) has picked up the exclusive rights to air the TV drama Terra Nova, produced by Steven Spielberg, Brannon Baraga and Peter Chernin, among others, on FOX across Asia.

The first episode, two hours long and budgeted at a record-setting $20 million, is scheduled to premiere on October 29 and will be broadcast exclusively on FOX. Producers of the series also include Rene Echevarria, Jon Cassar, Aaron Kaplan and Katherine Pope. Terra Nova, set in the year 2149, is about scientists who build a time machine that enables people to travel 85 million years back in time.

“Viewers across Asia who subscribe to the FOX channel will be treated to the most anticipated, highest-budget TV drama series ever produced,” said Joon Lee, the senior VP of programming, creative and channel operations at Fox International Channels. “Terra Nova joins other leading shows on the FOX channel such as NCIS, Criminal Minds and Bones to help further consolidate FOX’s position as a leading entertainment channel in the region.”
