PRAGUE: The Spektrum HD channel has been added to the channel lineup of Skylink, bringing the service to nearly 15 percent of Czech and Slovak TV households.

Spektrum HD offers documentaries that cover science, history, wildlife and culture. The service joins Skylink as of May 1. It will be available for all viewers equipped with MPEG-4 tuners.

Skylink is also bulking up its offerings by adding Sport2, complementing its existing Sport1 service, as well as the food channel TV Paprika.

“Spektrum HD is the first of our channels that we will be bringing to viewers in high definition and we are pleased that this premiere will offer new entertainment to customers of Skylink, the biggest satellite operator in the Czech Republic and Slovakia,” said Alena Blahovcová, the VP of affiliate sales of Chello Central Europe.

“We have selected Spektrum HD to be a part of Skylink’s HD channel portfolio to ensure its long-term programming quality and wide popularity among viewers,” added Jaromír Glisník, the managing director of Skylink.
