Sparks Sells No Frontiers to France, Italy

STOCKHOLM: The lifestyle and travel show No Frontiers has been picked up for local treatments in France and Italy, with Sparks Network locking in the deals.

No Frontiers is based on the Telemadrid format Madrileños por el Mundo. No Frontiers will be co-produced with Zebra Producciones, which also produces the format for several regional channels in Spain. Zebra will be the central production hub, allowing other producers to take advantage of their research and production infrastructure all around the world. The French version will be produced by Elephant & C:ie.

"Really good ideas are often very simple and No Frontiers is no exception," said Thierry Bizot, the managing director of Elephant & C:ie. "It’s such a clever format and the unique co-production model is a way forward on how to solve the impossible equation how to keep the production quality up and at the same time keep the cost per episode down."

"No Frontiers is a key project for Sparks Network as it takes advantage of the fact that Sparks has local member producers all over the world," added Nicola Söderlund, the president of Sparks Network. "It’s of proof our strong model that aggregates the resources of these producers in a joint global co-production."
