Southern Star Scores Distribution Rights for ITV1 Mini-Series

SYDNEY, February 21:
Southern Star International has acquired the international distribution rights
to A Place of Execution, a
three-part mini-series.

The psychological thriller
explores the borderline between reality and illusion through a novice
detective’s investigation into a young girl’s brutal murder. The mini-series is
based on a novel by Val McDermid, who also wrote the novels that inspired Wire
in the Blood.

A Place of Execution will be produced for ITV1 by Coastal Productions,
the producer of Wire in the Blood.
Sandra Jobling and Robson Green will executive produce the series, alongside
producer Phil Leach and associate producer Will Nicholson. Filming will begin
in early April.

Southern Star
International will launch A Place of Execution at MIPCOM 2008.
