Sony Digital Exec to Lead Crackle

CULVER CITY, October 29:
The senior VP of digital networks for Sony Pictures Television, Eric Berger,
will take over responsibility for the company’s online entertainment network,
Crackle.

Berger will oversee
content development and programming, marketing and distribution for Crackle.
Berger also manages the day-to-day operations of the digital networks group,
responsible for the programming and distribution for multiplatform channels
such as The Minisode Network, The Vault and PIX.

Since joining the company
in 2006 as the VP of mobile entertainment, Berger has guided Sony’s
mobile-games division to fifth place in the market and successfully launched
video services on all available mobile operators. Prior to Sony, Berger served
as VP of strategic planning for Time Warner.

for the future of Crackle, one that takes advantage of the studio's current
relationships and assets as well as looking for breakout talent,” said Sean
Carey, the senior executive VP of Sony Pictures Television. “His passion for
the space and for Crackle's potential are certain to take it to the next level.”
