CANNES: RDF Rights has signed a number of format deals, along with several renewals, for the competition series So You Think You Can Dance.

From 19 Entertainment and dick clark productions, the series has been renewed by TVN and Mastiff in Poland for a fifth run, SABC and Rapid Blue in South Africa for a sophomore season and a co-production deal between VTM in Belgium and RTL5 in the Netherlands produced by Kanakna will see a second installment.

A handful of new international territories have signed up to produce their own local versions of the show as well, including Imagine and Colosceum Productions in India, SIC and Endemol Productions in Portugal, Nelonen in Finland and Viasat in Lithuania.

Barnaby Shingleton, RDF Rights’ head of light entertainment acquisitions, said, “The ever increasing footprint of So You Think You Can Dance shows how the format remains at the top of the pile when it comes to dance reality competitions. While other shows celebrate celebrity or ephemeral talent, So You Think You Can Dance is unashamedly elitist, attracting the very best dancers a territory has to offer.”
