Smithsonian, Time Warner in Distribution Deal

NEW YORK: Smithsonian Networks and Time Warner Cable have inked a multiplatform distribution deal, which includes the Smithsonian Channel joining the service provider’s lineup of HD channels. 

Smithsonian Channel content will also be available in a variety of formats to Time Warner Cable customers. This includes services such as Road Runner High Speed Online and HD on Demand as well as the Enhanced TV services Start Over and Look Back. Smithsonian Networks, a joint venture between Showtime Networks and the Smithsonian Institution, features original documentaries, short-subject explorations and programs highlighting America’s historical, cultural and scientific heritage.
