TORONTO: Two new children’s properties have joined the catalogue of Skywriter Media & Entertainment Group in the run-up to MIPTV, The Wumblers and Planet Echo.

The animated preschool series The Wumblers follows Bertrum, a 5-year-old Wumbler and his best bud Paimundo the snail. Together, they grow and learn how to make the world a better place. The 26×11-minute series is produced by The Giddy Gander Company.

Planet Echo is a factual live-action series aimed at the 8-to-12 set. The 13×30-minute show has an environmental focus with segments on interesting people, places, cool factoids and working science experiments about the natural world. The series is a co-production between MRV Echo One and Positive Echo One, currently in production with APTN Canada for a January 2011 debut.

“We are very pleased to welcome The Wumblers and Planet Echo to the fast-growing Skywriter catalogue,” said Paula McLaren, the VP of distribution and acquisitions for Skywriter. “These titles represent the perfect blend of quality and entertainment and both are designed to engage their audiences on multiple platforms. At MIP, we’ll be looking for digital and new media opportunities in addition to broadcast.”
