Sky Chief Dismisses Relocation Rumors

LONDON, January 25: While
attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, BSkyB’s chief executive, James
Murdoch, dismissed media speculation that he is gearing up to leave the British
satellite platform for a position at the News Corporation headquarters in New
York.

The Mail on Sunday reported this week that Murdoch is being lured to
New York by his father, News Corporation’s chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch. The
report also noted that SKY Italia chief Tom Mockridge was slated to take over
at Sky.

The Sky chief has become
the senior Murdoch’s heir apparent since his brother, Lachlan Murdoch, stepped
down as the COO of News Corp. in 2005.

James Murdoch said the
speculation was "not true" during an interview at the World Economic
Forum in Davos, Bloomberg reported.
