Singaporean Drama to be Adapted in China

SINGAPORE/SHANGHAI: Singapore’s MyChinaChannel is teaming with China’s Shanghai MediaGroup (SMG) for an adaptation of the MediaCorp drama series Little Nyonya.

QianJin is the name of the Chinese adaptation of MediaCorp’s Channel 8 drama. It is being produced as a co-venture of SMG’s WingsMedia, MyChinaChannel and MediaCorp. It will be set in the early 20th century and localized to suit the tastes of audiences in China. MediaCorp will distribute outside of China, while WingsMedia will handle domestic distribution.

Past projects between SMG WingsMedia and MyChinaChannel include My China Destiny, China Trend, China Money Mind and A New Beginning.
