Sinbad Series Adaptation Headed to Australia’s Nine Network

LONDON: BBC Worldwide has signed up Nine Network in Australia to air Impossible Pictures’ big-budget adaptation of Sinbad in 2012.

The 13×45-minute series is set in the 8th century, and is a modern retelling of the classic tale of the pirate and journeyman from the Middle East and his adventures on the high seas. The show is an Impossible Pictures production for Sky 1 and BBC Worldwide.

Sinbad will be THE action-adventure series of 2012," said Julie Dowding, BBC Worldwide Australia’s sales director of the pre-sale. "We are excited that Australian audiences will be able to share the exploits of Sinbad and his colorful crew week to week with the Nine Network.”
