SiCKO Becomes the Third Highest-Grossing Doc of All Time

NEW YORK, September 10: SiCKO, Michael Moore’s exposé of the American health care system, has become the third highest-grossing documentary of all time, totaling $24.2 million domestically since its June 29 theatrical debut.

The film moved into third place, taking the spot from previous record holder An Inconvenient Truth. It is surpassed only by Moore’s previous doc Fahrenheit 9/11 and March of the Penguins, respectively.

Written, directed and produced by Michael Moore, SiCKO is also produced by Meghan O’Hara and co-produced by Anne Moore. It is being distributed in U.S. theaters and on pay television in the U.S. by Lionsgate Films, and was fully financed by The Weinstein Company, with Bob Weinstein and Harvey Weinstein also serving as executive producers.
