Showtime, Weinstein Co. Ink Exclusive Output Deal

NEW YORK, July 15:
Showtime Networks has entered into an exclusive seven-year film distribution
agreement with The Weinstein Company (TWC) for up to 95 films, including Nine, Inglorious Bastards and Scream 4.

The new output deal is
effective with TWC’s 2009 release schedule, and also covers releases from
Dimension Films, including The Six Billion Dollar Man, a remake of David Cronenberg's Scanners and Youth In Revolt, starring Juno’s Michael Cera. Additional TWC titles included in
the deal are All Good Things,
starring Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst; a modern remake of Seventh Samurai; the screen adaptation of Paul Coelho’s
bestselling novel The Alchemist;
and Panic, based on a book by
Jeff Abbott.

and diverse slate of films at a price to Showtime that is consistent with

films are known for quality and promotability, making them a perfect fit with
the acclaimed and award-winning original series that have generated strong
momentum and subscriber growth for Showtime. We will continue to pursue such
value-enhancing deals in the future."
