Showtime, Canada’s CTV Television Top Winners at Promax/BDA

NEW YORK, June 14: Showtime Networks led the pack of winners
in the North American competition at the Promax/BDA 2007 Design Awards
competition last night, while SCI FI Channel in the U.K. picked up the most
awards among the World Gold contenders.

The Promax/BDA Design Awards—which took place at the
Hilton New York Hotel last night—was divided into North America and World
Gold, based on the entrants’ primary region of business. The ceremony fell
midway through the organization's three-day conference of industry networking,
idea sharing and keynote addresses.

In the North American competition, Showtime Networks came
out on top with four Gold and six Silver awards. Meanwhile, Canada's CTV
Television picked up four Gold and five Silver statues, and Troika Design
earned four Gold and two Silver awards.

Among World Gold contenders, the SCI FI Channel took home
five Gold and six Silver statues, while BSkyB was awarded four Gold and four
Silver statues. A number of companies also earned three Gold awards each,
including Fox Sports, MTV International, MTV U.K. and NBC Universal Global
Networks.

Promax/BDA also bestowed its BDA Lifetime Achievement Award
to Bob Greenberg, the chairman, CEO and global chief creative officer of R/GA.
A pioneer in the advertising industry for three decades, Greenberg has been
instrumental in creating and developing new agency models while bringing design
and marketing into the digital age.

"We saw an amazing array of design work among the
competitors this year," said Lee Hunt, the interim managing director of
Promax/BDA. "Designers are continuing to push the creative envelope in
producing extraordinary images that grab the viewers' attention while also
telling a very important visual story for the networks and programming these
designs represent."

In addition to the Gold, Silver and Bronze statues, award
recipients will also have their winning entries added to the permanent
collection of Promax/BDA media at the United States Library of Congress as part
of The Robert Neer Promax/BDA Promos.tv Collection, containing over 6,900
winning promotional spots from Promax/BDA competitions worldwide since 1999.
