LONDON: Elisabeth Murdoch’s Shine Group has tapped JP Morgan to advise it on its strategic options, which include a possible sale to News Corporation.

According to British press reports, Shine has held talks with News Corp. and has been approached by a number of other suitors. The company is currently majority owned by Elisabeth Murdoch, with 20 percent held by Sony and 13 percent by BSkyB.

"Whilst we would not comment on speculation, Shine Group can confirm that given the current consolidation within the international production sector, the company has appointed JP Morgan to advise it on its strategic options and growth opportunities," a Shine spokesman told the Guardian. "Whilst this may or may not result in a transaction, until any conclusions are reached there will be no further comment."
