Shearer Joins Discovery in Footage-Sales Role

SILVER SPRING: Jocelyn Shearer, formerly with National Geographic, has joined Discovery Studios as its VP of footage sales.

Shearer will be responsible for developing and leading a sales team to expand the market share and distribution client base for Discovery’s content library. At National Geographic, Shearer was the VP of video products and archive management. She also previously worked with Corbis and Getty Images.

“With her deep background and extensive experience in stock footage sales and the media industry, Jocelyn is an excellent choice to lead the expansion of Discovery’s Footage and Music Services business,” said Peter McKelvy, the VP of footage and music services, to whom Shearer will report. “Discovery’s vast library of high-quality footage is already in demand from television and motion picture producers around the world, and I look forward to working with Jocelyn to fully realize the potential of this high-value asset.”
