What are some of your top properties for MIPCOM?

 

Shaftesbury is very excited to be introducing our new movie Vacation With Derek which, in addition to featuring our stars from the hit series Life With Derek the movie will also introduce the winner of So You Think You Can Dance Canada, Nico Archambault, in a role that features his remarkable talents. We also have ongoing series production commitments for each of Overruled! and Connor Undercover, and will be presenting those to broadcasters.
 
 

Why will these programs appeal to buyers?

 

The shows we’re bringing to MIPCOM reinforce Shaftesbury’s commitment to great story telling. Working with Canada’s Family Channel we’ve been lucky enough to produce high-quality shows that resonate with our audience.
 
 

What are some of the trends you’re currently seeing in this market?

 

Current trends suggest that there’s a continued evolution of programming that can be deployed online and on television simultaneously. Kids continue to impress producers with their savvy engagement of stories, characters, and plot. They’re dynamic and because of the Internet, are responding to us immediately evoking regular dialogue with creators.
 
 

What are your goals and expectations MIPCOM? 

 

We are focused on finding the right homes for Vacation With Derek and our continuing series. We’re very excited to return to the Palais and get moving.
 
Is there any other information you would like to share regarding your plans for MIPCOM? 
Shaftesbury through its digital division, Smokebomb, will be looking for homes and partners for original online productions.
