MUNICH: Benidorm Bastards, an edgy hidden-camera series in which older men and women make fun of the younger generation, has been added to the catalogue of SevenOne International.

The series premiered March 25 on Belgian channel 2BE, and gained a market share of 23.6 percent with viewers 15 to 44. In the show, seven elderly men and women display outspoken behavior, leaving their unsuspecting younger targets in shock.

Jens Richter, the managing director of SevenOne, said: “Benidorm Bastards is a candid, guerilla-style show that has caused a major media hype in Belgium since its premiere three weeks ago. Who would have thought that this bunch of seven grey-haired retirees provides such excellent and hilarious TV programming, especially for the young audiences. Playing with the alleged generational gap, this format is a joy to watch!”
