MUNICH: SevenOne International has sold the production rights for the hit Belgian format Benidorm Bastards to Istanbul-based Konsensus TV Productions.

The Benidorm Bastards format has been sold to more than 20 countries, including the U.S., the U.K., Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Romania, Australia and South Korea. It is produced by Tim Van Aelst and is a hidden-camera show that follows seven senior citizens whose mission is to roam the streets and blow the minds of as many young people as they can.

"In the last decade, the format business itself has become an industry," said Tolga Gariboglu, the founder of Konsensus TV Productions. "We are pleased to have purchased the rights to this brilliant show to implement in Turkey. It has great potential for success, and we are very eager to start production of the Turkish version of Benidorm Bastards."

"Benidorm Bastards is already an international hit for us and I am thrilled that it will now be produced for the Turkish market," said Bodo Braun, the sales director for German-speaking countries and Turkey at SevenOne International. "With Konsensus TV as our partner, we are convinced that Benidorm Bastards will delight Turkish audiences—young and old alike!"
