SevenOne Scores China Deal on Science Show

MUNICH, July 10: SevenOne International has licensed its
technology/science magazine series Galileo
into China with a deal with state broadcaster CCTV.

The deal on Galileo
follows CCTV’s pickup of the Sat.1 quiz show Clever! Yan He, sales manager at the German distributor,
noted, “Science-tainment programs are an absolute trend in China. We’re
delighted that Galileo gave us an
ideal chance to serve that demand. The sale will carry us another important
step forward into this market.”

SevenOne has also fared well with its drama productions in
China, including deals on Tornado, The
Crows
and Bluecard, among others.

Galileo airs on
ProSieben Monday through Friday at 7 p.m. It has been on the air for almost
eight years, launching in a 30-minute format before being extended to hour-long
episodes last year.
