Canadian Deal on Project Runway

LONDON/TORONTO, July 10: The Canadian outfit Insight
Production has reached a deal with Fremantle International Distribution to
produce a local version of Bravo’s hit fashion talent competition Project
Runway
, which kicks off its third season in
the U.S. this week.

Insight has already worked with FremantleMedia on Canadian
Idol
. John Brunton, president and CEO of
the company, said of the new deal with FID: “The Canadian edition of Project
Runway
will be one of the most exciting
things to happen to the Canadian fashion industry and we guarantee that it will
be uniquely Canadian.”

The Emmy-nominated series, developed by Miramax and The
Weinstein Company, gives up-and-coming fashion designers the chance to have
their designs show at a key fashion event and displayed in a leading fashion
magazine.
