Sesame Workshop Makes Promotion, New Hire

NEW YORK: Maura Regan has been upped to senior VP and general manager of global consumer products at Sesame Workshop, where Jessica Giat has been brought on to serve as VP of licensing and partner relations.

Regan reports to Sherrie Westin, the executive VP and chief marketing officer. She will oversee the global retail business for Sesame Workshop across all key categories of licensed goods. Prior to this promotion, Regan served as VP and general manager for global consumer products.

Reporting to Regan, Giat will be responsible for managing Sesame Workshop’s master toy licensee coordinating activities worldwide, tasked with analyzing activities by territory and monitoring the overall account on a global basis. She will also work closely with the education and research team to ensure that the educational goals of the company are factored into the development process. Prior to joining Sesame Workshop, Giat ran the licensing and brand-management company You, Me and the Lampost.

“As a nonprofit organization, our global licensing effort represents our most significant source of unrestricted revenue and is critical in promoting the resources to support our mission,” said Westin. “Maura has done an excellent job in maximizing existing business and identifying new ones through a careful and thoughtful analysis of product mix, sales, and industry trends. Jessica’s experience in brand development, marketing, and partner relations will be a great asset in our new partnership with Hasbro.”
