Senior Appointments at NBCU International TV Production

LONDON: Michael Edelstein, who joined NBC Universal International just four months ago as the president of international TV production, has promoted a number of senior executives to drive expansion into drama, comedy and entertainment. 

Gareth Neame has been named managing director UK, expanding his current remit to oversee all U.K. television production initiatives in drama, comedy and entertainment. Edelstein and Neame are recruiting three senior executives to build these categories as well Reporting to Neame, these roles will focus on the expansion of NBCU’s production slate. Each executive will be responsible for building a successful portfolio through the development of new talent and creative partnerships, mainly in the U.K.

Edelstein said, “Gareth is a smart and dynamic television executive, whose knowledge of the U.K. market is second to none. He has tremendous business acumen and strong creative instincts, which will be vital assets to lead our U.K. growth.”

Neame commented, “It is exciting to be at the centre of NBCU’s International TV production expansion. There is enormous potential to build a wide production portfolio with the best talent in one of the world’s most important TV markets.”

Edelstein announced other senior team changes for NBCU’s international TV production unit, including the promotion of Jeremy Miles from VP to senior VP of business and legal affairs, who will lead the commercial growth strategy across the international TV production unit. Yvonne Pilkington is upped from VP to senior VP of format sales and Charlotte Raben has been promoted from director to VP of format sales.
