LONDON: Seneca Productions, the production company established by director Neil Crombie and writer and broadcaster Alain de Botton, has named Joe Evans as managing director.

Evans was previously the head of development at Oxford Scientific Films, where he scored commissions from BBC One, BBC Four, Channel 5, Discovery in the U.S., Animal Planet and National Geographic, including the hit U.S. series Fatal Attractions and History of Safari with Richard E Grant.

Neil Crombie, the director of Seneca Productions, said: “Joe is full of ideas and energy, and really passionate about making smart, quality television. It’s fantastic to have him on board and we look forward to working with him to expand the company’s output and build on our existing reputation for high-quality, intelligent programming.”

Evans added: “After a wonderful three years at OSF I’m delighted to be stepping up to run a company whose output and ethos I greatly admire. Seneca is a hugely creative indie and I look forward to driving the next stage of its development.”
