LONDON: Industry veteran Kevin Dickie has been appointed as the senior VP of channels for the U.K. and EMEA at Scripps Networks Interactive.

In his newly created role, Dickie is charged with content and brand strategy for the region's portfolio of channels, including Food Network, Travel Channel and Fine Living. He will work under Phillip Luff, the company's managing director for the U.K. and EMEA.

Dickie joined Scripps Networks earlier this year as a consultant to evaluate the region's programming and brand strategies. He is now directly responsible for production and development, programming, scheduling strategy, marketing, creative services and communication. He will lead the team to create strong and vibrant content and brand campaigns. As part of the U.K. and EMEA leadership team, he will help identify strategic brand extension opportunities beyond TV.

Previously, Dickie spent a decade and a half at Discovery Communications, where he most recently served as senior VP of the content group for Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific. He also held various marketing and communications leadership posts within the company. Earlier in his career, Dickie was the director of Shandwick International's corporate practice in Singapore.

Luff commented: "Kevin is a dynamic leader and consummate professional. His unparalleled strategic vision, creative storytelling and operational expertise will help elevate Scripps Networks' business across U.K. and EMEA. His extensive experience will undeniably increase brand awareness and ratings for our existing channel portfolio as well as expand our business operations across the region."
