SAG, AMPTP in Tentative Cable Deal

LOS ANGELES: The Screen Actors Guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) have reached a tentative agreement for new contracts covering basic cable and TV animation.

At the start of this week, SAG and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), following joint bargaining, reached a tentative agreement with the AMPTP for a new theatrical motion picture and television production.

The new three-year contracts announced yesterday cover basic cable live action, basic cable animation and television animation productions. The run from July 1, 2011, to June 30, 2014. Terms are similar to the contracts agreed to earlier in the week, including a 6-percent wage increase and a 10-percent rise in the current rate of employer contributions paid to the Screen Actors Guild Pension & Health Plans.
