LOS ANGELES: Saban Brands has secured a promotion agreement for the Paul Frank brand with 7-Eleven convenience stores in Hong Kong, following the recent opening of a flagship Paul Frank store in China.

The nine-week Paul Frank promotion kicked off in Hong Kong on September 21 and continues through November 22. 7-Eleven stores in Hong Kong are expected to distribute more than 1 million pieces during the event. Customers can earn Paul Frank stamps to be redeemed for Julius the monkey plush designs and Julius figures, and will also be able to download Paul Frank digital wallpaper for each of the nine Julius characters featured in the promotion.

Saban Brands’ flagship Paul Frank store opened in China at the Joy City Mall in Xidan, Beijing on September 9. Working in partnership with Shanghai Romma, a subsidiary of the Jun Yao Corporation, Saban plans to launch 60 additional Paul Frank Stores throughout China within the next five years. In Asia, there are currently Paul Frank stores in Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia.

“We’re pleased to partner with promotional agency TCC and 7-Eleven in bringing the distinctly popular Julius character to consumers in Hong Kong,” said Kirk Bloomgarden, the senior VP of international licensing of Saban Brands.

“The collectable Julius plush conveys the fun and humor that is intrinsic in Paul Frank branded products and provides a wonderful introduction to the brand’s retail offering,” Bloomgarden added. “7-Eleven is a great partner for us in this region as it is a popular stop for young adults, our core target.”
