Russian Deal for Armoza

TEL AVIV: Armoza Formats has firmed up a pilot agreement with the Russian broadcaster CTC for a local treatment of its comedy format Comedians at Work

A pilot will be produced, which the channel will then use to determine whether or not it wants to commission a full series. This is Armoza Formats’ first deal with a Russian broadcaster. Comedians at Work watches as comedians go out and perform everyday jobs, then return to the studio and present a stand-up routine based on their experience.

Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats, said: "When you get comedy right, it can become a channel’s star program, spawning new talent for the channel and securing a long run of excellently-rated prime-time seasons. We’re very pleased that our local partners in Comedians at Work in Germany and Norway have proven that the format’s recipe is a guaranteed hilarious hit, and we look forward to seeing a new incarnation in Russia.

"Russia and the CEE territories have been, for the past couple of years, one of our company’s dedicated strategic targets for new broadcasts, and we are pleased to see our influence grow throughout the region."
