RTS: Amazon’s Georgia Brown, Channel 4’s Ian Katz & Sky’s Zai Bennett

At the RTS London Conference, Amazon’s Georgia Brown, Channel 4’s Ian Katz and Sky’s Zai Bennett discussed content in a shifting world in a session titled “Commission Accomplished.”

We all know the market is changing shape, but what of the shows within it? What does it mean to commission linear television in an increasingly SVOD world? Meanwhile, what are the new entrants really looking for? And are these platform distinctions as cut and dried as they seem? Brown, director of original TV for Europe at Amazon; Katz, Channel 4’s director of programs; and Bennett, director of Sky Atlantic, answered these questions and more.

This footage was created by the Royal Television Society. It was recorded at the RTS London Conference, a biennial one-day conference explores the accelerating pace of consolidation across global media sectors and how this drive for scale is impacting the commissioning and production landscape. The conference took place on September 18.
