RTL to Launch Three Digital Channels on December 1

MUNICH, October 17: RTL Television will launch its three new
digital channels in Germany on December 1: RTL Crime, RTL Living and the newly
unveiled Passion, a joint venture with UFA Film und TV Produktion that will
feature daily serials and telenovelas.

RTL TV CEO Anke Schäferkordt said in announcing the launch
date for the three channels: "Exciting crime series, moving daily series
and service-oriented reality formats are important for RTL and represent our
family of channels. With this new digital channels we will consequently
strengthen our digital offers around our free-to-air TV channels."


The three channels will be overseen by
Dr. Klaus
Holtmann, currently the head of projects at RTL TV's strategy department. They
will be available via the digital TV package tividi from cable operators Ish,
Iesy and Kabel Baden-Württemberg, as well as on the Arena platform and on the
IPTV services T-Online and Hansenet.

RTL Crime’s lineup will include U.S. series like CSI, CSI: Miami and Miami Vice, local
fare like Alarm für Cobra 11 and Der
Clown
and crime documentaries. RTL Living’s
slate will feature Einsatz in 4 Wänden, Mein Garten, Unsere
erste gemeinsame Wohnung
as well as Vox's
travel program Voxtours and Kochduell alongside international offerings.

Passion’s lineup will include telenovelas and serials from
Germany, South America and the U.S., among them Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten, Verbotene
Liebe
and Unter uns. The managing directors of the joint venture will be
Dr. Klaus Holtmann (RTL TV) and Dr. Friedrich Nicolaus Heise (Grundy
UFA).
