Robot Chicken Star Wars Special to Air in November

ATLANTA, July 23: Adult
Swim’s Robot Chicken will
premiere a new Star Wars-themed
special this fall as a follow up to last year’s Emmy-nominated Robot
Chicken: Star Wars.

Robot Chicken: Star
Wars Episode II
, to be directed by
Seth Green, will air at 11:30 p.m. on November 16. Original Star Wars lead actress Carrie Fisher will reprise her role
as Princess Leia and Billy Dee Williams will appear as Lando Calrissian.

Robot Chicken: Star
Wars Episode II
is created and
executive produced by Green and Matt Senreich under their Stoopid Monkey
Productions, in conjunction with Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico’s ShadowMachine
Films. The special is written by Green, Senreich, series head writers Tom Root
and Douglas Goldstein and the Robot Chicken writing staff.

The original special, Robot
Chicken: Star Wars
, became
available on DVD yesterday. Six new episodes of the Robot Chicken series will begin airing August 31.

Green said: “We're
thrilled to get to make Episode II;
it doesn’t even seem real, getting to make Star Wars twice! We’re so excited and bursting with joy.”

“With this second special,
we knew we had to do something a bit different, something more,” Senreich said.
“With that in mind, we decided to focus on the bounty hunters a bit and explore
their stories. It’s a geek-fest for us all.”
