Rive Gauche Bulks Up Doc Catalogue

LOS ANGELES: Rive Gauche Television has picked up two new documentaries from National Geographic that it will introduce at MIPCOM.

After the Spill: The Last Catch looks at the disastrous BP oil spill. The hour-long documentary spotlights the story of the fisherman’s fight to maintain the threatened livelihoods and the unexpected bonds they formed with the oil riggers battling alongside them. The other title that’s been added to the Rive Gauche slate is Hunt for the Somali Pirates, about the hijacking of the Maersk Alabama. The doc recounts the five days from hijack to final fatal shots, revealing sophisticated Navy SEALS training methods.
