BURBANK: The Walt Disney Company is weighing three bids for its shuttered Miramax Films unit, including one from the mini-studio’s former owners, the Weinstein brothers, reports indicate.

The bids for the Miramax name and its 700-title film library include one from Tom, Alec and Sam Gores for $550 million. Another is for about $600 million, from Ron W. Burkle’s Yucaipa Companies in tandem with Bob and Harvey Weinstein—the brothers sold the studio they founded to Disney in 1993. Meanwhile, David Bergstein and his Pangea Media Group has offered close to $700 million for Miramax.
