Regulators Take Issue with NBCU Management Announcement

NEW YORK: Regulators are said to be upset with Comcast’s announcement of a new executive structure for NBC Universal before the merger has been approved, calling the move "presumptuous and arrogant."

The New York Times reports that two government officials with knowledge of the negotiations have said the announcement displeased regulators because the deal has not actually been approved yet. “For a deal this large, and one that hasn’t been approved, Comcast’s behavior is presumptuous and arrogant,” one of the officials said, according to The New York Times.

Earlier this fall, while naming Steve Burke as the incoming CEO, Comcast and GE said in a statement: "there will be no additional structural or personnel announcements until the deal closing process and timing is certain."
