CANNES/MUNICH: Red Arrow International has sold the rights for The Taste to Australia’s Nine Network and Restless to ProSiebenSat.1 Media Group.

Australia’s Nine Network picked up the rights to The Taste, a cooking competition show, for broadcast of both a local adaptation and the American version. In addition, ABC in the U.S. has commissioned eight episodes of the Kinetic Content-created show, led by culinary experts Nigella Lawson and Anthony Bourdain.

Yan He, the regional sales director for Australia at Red Arrow International, commented: “I am absolutely thrilled The Taste has been picked up by Nine Network. The Taste truly takes cooking shows to the next level—the feedback from buyers here at MIPCOM is terrific.”

Red Arrow International also made a deal with ProSiebenSat.1, which has acquired the German rights to the TV adaptation of Restless. Inspired by William Boyd’s spy novel of the same name, the 2×90-minute mini-series from Endor Productions stars Hayley Atwell (Captain America), Rufus Sewell (Pillars of the Earth), Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), Charlotte Rampling (Melancholia) and Michael Gambon (Harry Potter).

Irina Ignatiew, the regional sales director for German-speaking countries at Red Arrow International, said: “Restless is a compelling spy thriller with all the ingredients for success: based on a best-selling novel by William Boyd, a screenplay written by the author himself and a terrific cast. ProSiebenSat.1 Media has a reputation for amazing miniseries and we are thrilled that Restless is one of them.”
