Record Viewership for U.S. Presidential Convention

NEW YORK, September 2:
Data from Nielsen Media Research estimates that 38.4 million people tuned in to
watch Presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama address the Democratic National
Convention at the end of last week.

The four days of coverage
of the convention averaged 22.5 million homes and 30.2 million
individuals—up considerably from the 15.5 million homes and 20.4 million
viewers for the 2004 Democratic Convention.

The Republican National
Convention takes place this week.
