Rebranded Shine International Scores Distribution Deals

LOS ANGELES: Shine International, which has been renamed from ShineReveille International, has secured distribution on five new programs from independent producers.

The new titles include Nick Davis Productions’ Blood, Sweat + Gears, about a group of underdog cyclists trying to win an invitation to the Tour De France; Showtime’s Adopted, a mockumentary/comedy that explores the lengths to which Pauly Shore will go to adopt a child in Africa; and Showtime’s I Can’t Believe I’m Still Single, following the romantic quest of an American actor who is using his MySpace fans as a guide to finding the perfect woman. PBS’ Live from the Artists Den is a music series featuring artists performing in extraordinary settings. Animal Planet’s Underdog to Wonderdog, produced by Sharp Entertainment, features stray shelter pups who are rescued, rehabilitated, trained and pampered, then placed into a loving home. Shine International has also added Shine TV’s The Naked Office, a show that follows as brave businesses adopt a team-building approach of going to work naked.

The rebranding is part of an expansion effort that sees ShineReveille International and Metronome Film & Television’s international sales operation, Friday TV, combined into a single business unit under the name Shine International. As part of the restructuring, John Pollak, the senior VP of ShineReveille International, becomes executive VP of Shine International. Matt Vassallo is upped to VP of Shine International, in charge of Latin America. Chris Grant is president of the division. Friday TV’s creative format business will continue to operate independently. Metronome Film & Television’s head of sales, Estelle Bodén, assumes the role of managing director for Friday TV.

"By placing the combined catalogues and talent of these groups under one roof, we’ve created a truly global sales organization with a single cohesive vision of the marketplace," Grant said. "We’re excited to welcome our Metronome/Friday TV partners to the fold, with their superb track record selling formats internationally and their shared vision as producers selling content. With our combined strengths and resources, we’re now positioned to serve both our Shine Group partners, and third-party producers, on an unprecedented scale."

"I look forward to running Friday TV and focusing on developing creative and innovative formats", added Bodén. "At the same time we will work closely with Shine International, to support the distribution of all formats from the Metronome group."
