Radio-Canada Makes Worldwide Sales

MONTREAL: Radio-Canada has secured broadcast deals for its series, specials and documentaries around the world, including Behind the Miracle and Rwanda: A Horror Without End, among others.

 

Sales include the tenth episode of the series La Grande Soif (Blue Gold) by Vic Pelletier Productions to ORF in Austria; Ecclestone, La Verite De PouVoir, a Mathieu Roy documentary produced by A4/Nexus Factory, to Orange in France; Meltdown (Krach), a four-part series co-produced by CBC/Radio-Canada’s Englishand French Services, to ArtMedia in Russia; and Derriere Le Miracle (Behind the Miracle) by Pimiento Productions, to ArtMedia and SIC in Portugal. Canal Historia in Spain picked up Rwanda: Une Guerre Qui Ne Veut Pas Mourir (Rwanda: A Horror Without End) by François Bugingo. RTS in Switzerland and KTO in France opted for D’oka À Saint-Jean-De-Matha, a feature report by Jean-Robert Faucher. and La Grande Révolution De L’alimentation (The Great Food Revolution)a four-part series co-produced by CBC/Radio-Canada’s English and French Services, was picked up byBomanbridge Media in Singapore.
 
Five Frédéric Back animated films produced by Radio-Canada were picked up by Kino Lab in Poland and L’afrique En Marche (Africa On the Move), a four-part series co-producedby CBC/Radio-Canada’s English and French Services, was sold to CCTV English in Chinafor worldwide broadcast. L’arctique En Pleine Mutation (The Rapidly Changing Arctic), a three-part series produced by Mario Masson and Kristina von Hlatky, was picked up by Canal+ in Poland.
 
Robert Trempe, the senior executive director of the CBC/Radio-Canada French Services Revenue Group, said, “Festival after festival, interest in our archive sales team’s varied offering continues to grow. For Radio-Canada and our partners alike, it’s one more feather in our cap and an encouragement to keep on producing original programs that stand out in every field.”
