ProSiebenSat.1 Posts Improved Profit

MUNICH: Stronger ad revenues in Germany helped ProSiebenSat.1 Group raise its Q1 profits from last year’s 1.7 million euros to 21.2 million euros.

The European broadcasting group reported an EBITDA of 128.6 million euros—a 37.1 percent jump. It attributed the improved results to a boost in German ad revenues. External revenues at the German-speaking free TV segment (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) gained 7.2 percent to reach 416.7 million euros.

The international free TV revenues increased by 4.5 percent to 160.8 million euros. Overall revenues were up by 5 percent to 658.4 million euros.
