MUNICH: Net profit at ProSiebenSat.1 Group for the second quarter rose 63.4 percent to 142.5 million euros, on revenues from continuing operations of 692.2 million euros, a 6.5-percent increase.

This is the European broadcasting group’s first set of financials since the disposal of assets in Belgium and the Netherlands. Including discontinued operations, the group increased revenues by 5.0 percent to 799.6 million euros. "We have a good position in the television advertising business and are continuing to expand the areas directly related to classical advertising-financed television," said Thomas Ebeling, CEO at ProSiebenSat.1 Media. "We thus accelerated our growth. ProSiebenSat.1 is on track for a new record year."

Revenues from the company’s free-TV German-language assets gained 3.7 percent to 477.2 million euros, while the international revenues, driven by ad gains in Norway and Denmark, rose 16.1 percent to 126.6 million euros. In the diversification segment, revenues rose by 9.5 percent to 88.4 million euros.

The company noted a decline in revenues from 9Live and has announced plans to shutter the service as of next week.
