Production Begins on Second Season of Ed’s Up

TORONTO, May 18: The
Canadian channel OLN, together with the Toronto-based
Peace Point Entertainment Group, have begun production on the second season of
the original reality series Ed’s Up,
featuring Ed Robertson, a founding member of the Grammy-nominated band
Barenaked Ladies.

A broadcast date for the
new season has not yet been announced. In the first season, traveling in his
Cessna airplane, Robertson was sent on a
cross-country wild goose chase where he trained with the navy, the army and the
CFL’s Hamilton Tiger Cats, in addition to branding and castrating cattle and
fighting forest fires. The second season will see Robertson pushed to
his limits with NASA astronaut training and slaughterhouse grunt work. To make things even more difficult, floats have been added
to his Cessna and en route to each challenge he must find a body of water to
land on. Only if he successfully completes his journey will he be awarded his
floatplane license, thus achieving his childhood dream.

“This season Robertson is
thrust into some dream jobs and some nightmare scenarios throughout Canada and
the U.S.,” said Patrice Baillargeon, the executive producer for OLN. “The level
of difficulty and intensity that is maintained throughout the challenges this
season is directly in line with OLN’s mandate to produce uninhibited,
adventurous programming.”
