Production Begins on Dennis & Gnasher

HABERFIELD, September 17:
Australia’s Sticky Pictures and Scottish animation studio Red Kite Animation
have started production on the new
children’s comedy series Dennis & Gnasher, which is based on the U.K. comic strip Dennis
the Menace
.

The program, which will
launch in 2009, is an Australian production for the Nine Network and CBBC in
the U.K. It follows the adventures of a mischievous boy, Dennis, and his
faithful dog, Gnasher.

Donna Andrews, Sticky
Pictures executive producer, said: “We’re very excited to be producing Dennis
& Gnasher
. It’s a famous,
heritage brand, known throughout the world and we’re thrilled to be bringing it
to new audiences both locally and internationally. Our team is relishing the
true classic boy-skewed series and it’s energetic, ‘fun before all else’ story
lines.”

The animation team in
Sydney is headed by director Glenn Kirkpatrick from Funnyazhell Animation.
Andrews is producing the series, along with Jane Schneider and Sueann Smith.
