Muse Entertainment To Produce New Jekyll and Hyde MOW

MONTREAL, July 27: Muse Entertainment has begun principal
photography on a contemporary take on the classic Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, which will be represented internationally by RHI
Entertainment.

Starring Dougray Scott of Desperate Housewives and Mission Impossible II, Tom Skerritt of Brothers & Sisters and Picket Fences, and Krista Bridges of Blythe &
Virginia
, this modern-day twist on the Strange
Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
will be
shooting in Montreal until August 15. This time around, writer Paul Margolis (MacGyver) and director Paolo Barzman (Relic Hunter) have eschewed the traditional use of heavy make-up
and special effects to portray the doctor’s metaphysical transformation into
the monstrous Mr. Hyde in order to show the change as a more internal,
psychological mutation.

“In our film, the boundary between good and evil is not so
clear cut as in older versions of the story,” said Barzman. “Our challenge is
to demonstrate the dual nature of Jekyll and Hyde in more subtle ways.”

Produced by Irene Litinsky (Human Trafficking) and Francois Sylvestre (The Human Stain,
Where the Money Is
), the film is executive
produced by Michael Prupas (The Wind in the Willows), Robert Halmi, Sr. (The Ten Commandments), and Robert Halmi, Jr. (Poseidon
Adventure
). A Canadian broadcaster has not
yet been announced.
