President Named for OWN

CHICAGO/SILVER SPRING,
June 18: Oprah Winfrey and Discovery Communications have named Robin Schwartz
as the president of OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, effective July 14.

OWN: The Oprah Winfrey
Network is set to launch in 2009 into some 70 million U.S. homes, replacing
Discovery Health.

As the network’s
president, Schwartz will lead all key business functions, including
development, programming, production, marketing, research and communications.
She will work in partnership with advertising sales and distribution to
generate revenue and grow the value of the OWN brand.

Schwartz is currently the
president of Regency Television, a joint venture between New Regency Films and
News Corporation’s Fox Television Studios, responsible for all aspects of
development and production for scripted comedy and drama series.

people," said Winfrey, the chairman of OWN.

Communications. “With her extensive production experience and industry-wide

OWN a trusted source of information and the definitive voice for living your
