Power Teams with Lionsgate Films for Flood Theatrical Release

LONDON, August 2: Power has reached an agreement with
Lionsgate Films for the theatrical release of its $30 million original feature
film Flood in the U.K. later this month.

Under the terms of deal, Flood will receive a limited theatrical release at a cinema in central
London in August and may expand thereafter. Based on the book of the same name
by Richard Doyle, Flood is about
a raging storm that unleashes a colossal surge into London. Top marine
engineers and barrier experts Rob, his ex-wife Sam and his father Leonard
Morrison, have only a few hours to save the city from devastation. Directed by
Tony Mitchell, the cast of Flood
includes Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting, The Full Monty, Eragon) Jessalyn Gilsig (Nip/Tuck, Prison Break), David Suchet (Poirot, The
Way We Live Now
, A World Apart) and Joanne Whalley (The Virgin Queen, Scandal,
Before You Go).

Flood is a Power
production in association with Moonlighting Films in South Africa and Muse
Entertainment Enterprises in Canada. It is produced by Justin Bodle and
independent producer Peter McAleese. The co-producers are Michael Prupas from
Muse Entertainment and Philip Key and Genevieve Hofmeyr for Moonlighting. It
was shot last year on location in London and South Africa.

Justin Bodle, the founder of Power, commented: “Flood is not only our biggest new production, but also our
very first feature film, so this deal is an important milestone for us as a
production and distribution company. It has all the elements of a classic
disaster movie—high action, a great script, stunning special effects and
a great cast—but with a distinctly British approach. It is also a very
timely tale and as such we have received guidance from many partners including
the Environment Agency.”
