Power Scores Crusoe Presales

LONDON, October 9: Power’s Crusoe, which launches on NBC this month, has shored up
presales in more than 40 major markets, signing up Nine Network in Australia,
Rai in Italy and Antena 3 in Spain, among others.

Deals have also been closed with France’s Canal Plus, New
Zealand’s TVNZ, Germany’s Tele München, Scandinavia’s Viasat, Sweden’s TV 4,
South Africa’s SABC 4, NBC Universal Global Channels in Asia and Fox
International Channels.

The series is a co-production of Power, Muse and
Moonlighting, adapted from Daniel Dafoe’s classic novel and starring Sam Neill
and Sean Bean. Production of Crusoe ends
this weekend in South Africa.

Another NBC show from Power’s production slate is the
two-part action thriller XIII: The Conspiracy (co-produced by Cipango and Prodigy in association with Power),
starring Val Kilmer and Stephen Dorff. It recently aired on Canal Plus, pulling
in a share of more than 17 percent.

Chris
Philip, Power’s worldwide president of sales, said: “Crusoe is a perfect
example of what the global audience has been waiting for and the high volume of
presales proves this.”

“The storyline and production values of Crusoe have exceeded our expectations and the success of
international presales is a testament to the quality of the show,” said Ben
Silverman, the co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios.
“We are thrilled to have it on NBC and we’re confident that international
broadcasters will be equally satisfied.”
