Power, Artear Reach Multiyear Deal

LONDON, November 12: Power
has inked a multiyear deal to supply more than 60 hours of prime-time drama programming
and TV mini-series to Argentinean broadcaster and producer Artear.

In the first phase of the
multiyear deal, Artear will acquire 15 new mini-series. Several titles from the
RHI Entertainment catalogue will be delivered, including Tin Man, a “cyber-twisted” remake of The Wizard of Oz, and the new action thriller Final Approach, which stars Dean Cain, William Forsythe and Lea
Thompson. The package also includes the original drama production Flood, based on the novel by Richard Doyle.

As part of the agreement,
which runs until 2009/2010, Artear has committed to another 30 titles from
Power.

Pepe Echegaray, Power’s VP
of sales and distribution for the Latin American region, who brokered the deal,
commented: "This is a landmark deal for Power which seals our relationship
with Artear and confirms our commitment, as an independent producer, to
creating and distributing the kind of premium TV content that can clearly
compete with some of the leading Hollywood studios.”
